Tyga has spoken of the shock and sadness of having his hair transplanted, after a botched procedure at London’s Royal College of Surgeons.
“I had a procedure done yesterday and I had my hair transplants,” the rapper told Entertainment Tonight.
“My hair is like, like, I don’t even know what to say.
It’s not even a question.
It just felt like the world was going to be like, ‘Oh, that’s not really how you do it.’
I can’t even imagine what it’s like to lose that.”
The 28-year-old singer was forced to undergo a hair transplant in April 2017 after doctors found he had a rare genetic condition, which was thought to be caused by a rare disorder called microcephaly.
“When I was doing my hair, I thought it would be normal,” he said.
“But then when I was done I realised that was actually the only way.
It was so hard.”
The rapper, who was originally from the United Arab Emirates, explained that his hair was treated with a special dye, which made his skin more white, before being transplanted into his scalp.
Tyga explained that after the procedure, he started to lose weight and felt a sense of “normalcy” but later found out that the dye had caused the loss of his hair.
“The doctor just told me I’m not going to have any hair on my head anymore,” he added.
“And I was like, yeah, but what’s the difference between a normal man and me?”
The singer has since spoken of how the surgery changed his lifestyle and helped him “get my life back on track.”
Tyga revealed that he is now more focused on the “new world order” and “the people I love” as well as on “living a new life.”
Tygga has previously discussed his hair issues in the past.
In 2017, he said he had “no idea what I was going through” after a procedure in October.
“It was like a wake-up call,” he told reporters at the time.
“Like I was just like, what’s going on?
What the fuck?”
In a separate interview with Billboard, Tyga said he has had “a lot of people tell me that my hair is a blessing and that they want to do it again.”
